Just down the way from the comedy club in Lexington Green, is Palmer’s Fresh Grill, which opened in April in the former Regatta location.  Palmer’s features a seasonably inspired menu, lakeside outdoor seating and an award-winning wine list with more than 35 wines offered by the glass.

For foodies, two of Lexington’s specialty grocery stores are located along Nicholasville Road as well: Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods.  A few minutes down the road, just over the Jessamine County line in Brannon Crossing is also the hidden gem, European Delights Gourmet Bakery, where you can pick up some fine sweet confections like French macaroons, Tiramisu cake, cookies, cakes and pastries.

But food isn’t the only thing this area has to offer.  At Jake’s Cigar Bar in Brannon Crossing, cigar and bourbon aficionados can relax on comfy couches or at the bar, while enjoying fine cigars from all over the world as well as one of their many bourbons.

Also in Brannon Crossing is S & D Indoor Gun Range, the perfect place to go if to learn responsible firearm skills, blow off some steam or enjoy time out with friends. S & D features 12 shooting lanes for pistol and rifle shooters.

There’s plenty more to do in Brannon as well, with shops, restaurants, salons, a movie theatre and even the Crossfit 859 gym to burn off all those pastries you sampled earlier.  Also be sure to visit Fayette Mall, the largest mall in the state of Kentucky.
