    Q & A with our Marketing Interns

We are so excited to announce that The Lane Team has expanded for the summer! We recently welcomed two new marketing interns aboard and can’t wait to see what creative ideas they’ll bring to the table. Both Kentucky natives, Brennan and Katie have already been a great help to our marketing team. They’ll be helping out a lot with social media, so if you don’t already, connect with us on Facebook and Instagram to see what we’re up to! Read on to learn a little more about each of them and help us give them a big Lane Team welcome!

Tell us a little about yourself!

Hello! I graduated from the University of Kentucky in December of 2018. Since graduation, I have worked as a graphic designer for a small local business. Currently, I run social media accounts for two small businesses in Lexington and am a media coordinator for my church. When I’m not working I enjoy hanging out with my pup, Angel. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and exploring the music scene!

What made you want to apply to this internship, and what are you most excited for?

My mom always encouraged me to seek out the real estate market and I thought this would be an amazing opportunity as The Lane Team is Lexington’s premiere real estate firm! I also had a personal connection as I went to college with some of The Lane Team members. I am most excited to learn about the market itself and work with some of the different clients. So far, I have really enjoyed researching and learning about Cave Run Lake and their cabins!

    What’s your favorite local restaurant?

I love Palmers at Lexington Green! It’s the closest you can get to feeling like you’re eating at the beach. I highly recommend the champagne chicken!

    What’s your favorite Kentucky tradition?

I enjoy hiking at Red River Gorge (which is only an hour from Cave Run Cabins!),  going to Evans Orchard and of course, UK basketball!

Any hobbies or interests we should mention?

I am a drummer and have been playing for about 13 years now. I’m not in a band, but have played for different churches within the Diocese of Lexington. I also love paddle boarding and enjoy finding new places in Kentucky to do it! Cave Run Lake is definitely on my list!

Tell us a little about yourself!

Hi, everyone! I just recently graduated from the University of Kentucky in May, where I earned a B.A. in English with a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies. I love writing, and this internship allows me to put those skills to good use while also providing a fun creative outlet! When I’m not working, you can find me hanging out with my friends, family and of course, my cat, Peach.

What made you want to apply to this internship, and what are you most excited for?

After graduating, I wanted to gain a little more real-world experience to help bridge the transition from college student to working professional. I hope to work full time in marketing and digital design, so this internship is a perfect fit! I’m most excited to learn more about the world of real estate and all of its unique nuances. Coming up with new and innovative ways to market different properties is always an exciting challenge, and I’m especially looking forward to helping promote the Distillery Heights Luxury Townhomes. They’re absolutely gorgeous and conveniently located in such a cool area of town!

    What’s your favorite local restaurant?

There are so many incredible restaurants in Lexington–It’s hard to pick just one! For all things brunch, I’d have to say Doodle’s. Their beignets are incredible! You can never go wrong with Carson’s Food & Drink either! Everything on their menu is absolutely delicious!

    What’s your favorite Kentucky tradition?

Like Brennan mentioned, hiking at Red River Gorge is always a favorite! I also love watching the races at Keeneland and cheering on the Cats at Kroger Field! Nothing beats fall football and a Kentucky tailgate!

Any hobbies or interests we should mention?

I love to run! It’s such a great way to stay active, and I always feel refreshed after a good, long run! I also enjoy reading, keeping up with my favorite style blogs and trying new recipes to satisfy my sweet tooth!
