The 10: Meredith Lane

1000515_531869736866734_1471276243_nMeredith Lane is the kind of person who can make a successful go of anything she tries – and she tried and does a lot! And how could she not with the kind of advice her mama gave her? She’s the hardest working, most competitive person you’ll ever meet, and she has more energy and dedication than most – and it’s the combination of those attributes with her loyalty and quick smile that make her such a successful Realtor in Central Kentucky.

If you know her, or have worked with her, you know that she’ll work harder for you than anyone else around, and by the time you’re done with the deal, chances are you’ll have a new friend! But…

Here are 10 things you might not know about Meredith Lane (but that you should):

“She Can’t Stop…She Won’t Stop…”1238130_639495846104122_1368793403_n
Meredith literally can’t – or won’t – stop working for her clients. No matter what she’s up to. Days, nights, weekends, holidays…even her own vacation. On one trip out of the country with girlfriends, she gave up precious beach time to work on contracts, check on listings and communicate with clients. Early in the morning, friends could hear the ‘clickety-clickety-clickety-clickety’ of Meredith at 7:00am, typing away on her iPad, writing a contract for one of her clients. She even pushed her luck on the flight, repeatedly rebelling against a flight attendant’s insistence that that “all portable electronic devices must be stowed.” Must be why she’s a life member of the Million Dollar Club.

On the Radio
Yep, that headline above was a reference to pop music, and if you listen to 104.5 The Cat, you might have made the connection by now…you’ve heard that happy voice on the radio. Meredith is the host of her weekday radio show, the interactive 9@9. Tune in at 9am!  She’s also been interviewed as a featured expert on the national radio show Real Estate Today.

BG CoverCover Girl
She’s also worked in print, working to help start the Central Kentucky lifestyle magazine BG that boasts all things fabulous in the Bluegrass for young professionals. But perhaps her coolest magazine work was when she appeared as one of REALTOR® Magazine’s 30 Under 30 for 2013. Meredith was selected as one of the magazine’s “up and comers”, and we must say, we wholeheartedly agree. She was also honored as one of the Lexington Young Professional Association’s Rising Stars.

Cute is Contagious!
Meredith’s been comfortable with her role in the media as an adult because she had lots of practice as a child, working in New York and L.A. during the summers as a child actor lbband model in TV and radio commercials, print ads and industrial training videos. It wasn’t all razzle dazzle, though – even “stars” experience the plagues of childhood. Meredith caught the chicken pox one year while working in New York – from cute little Mackauley Culkin, of Home Alone fame!

Get on Board
One of the reasons she’s found success is her willingness to get involved and give her time for many important community and professional groups, including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk, Junior League of Lexington and the Young Realtors of the Bluegrass Committee, of which she serves as the 2014 Chair, the Home Builders’ Association Sales and Marketing Council, and has been a guest speaker, panelist, emcee or judge at a number of charitable events.

First Things First
Yes, she’s into a little bit of everything, but don’t be fooled. “Real Estate is my first priority and my passion. My clients always come first. My favorite thing about real estate is genuinely getting to help people and the relationships built along the way. Of course I love looking at property and negotiating a deal, but in real estate, we are problem solvers and advice givers too. I always work with the mentality that if I put my client’s best interests first, we can’t lose– it will be a win-win situation for everyone involved.”

Real Life Renovation
Meredith doesn’t just live the real estate life for her clients, she also has a very personal understanding of all things real estate and renovation. She bought her home nearly four years ago and has been working on renovating it and “getting it JUST RIGHT” ever since! Just like everyone else, she’ll probably get it perfect and then sell it – but don’t ask about that just yet. “Mom [Kitty] keeps asking me if I’ll sell it, but I keep saying ‘No! Not yet…maybe someday.’”

Her nickname is “Mouse”
It’s not just because she’s cute (though, of course she is!), it’s because you dine out with her at your own risk. “I want to eat my food and TRY your food… especially if you ordered French fries and I didn’t!” Her friends dubbed her ‘Mouse’ after the serial sampling…and most of them tolerate it. But keep an eye out. Mice can be crafty…1506708_10152004412307076_1124605544_n

Favorite place to get away
“I’m with mom on that one. I really like to relax, go to the cabin and go fishing. But for a true vacation destination, I’ll take a warm, sandy beach.” (and her laptop, of course)

Even her Dog is a Networking Pro
Yes, The Lane Team is also team dog – pretty much across the board. But what would you expect from the dog of Meredith Lane? 972129_10101315015814690_180296785_nSocial [media] dominance of course! Brady Lane has been with Meredith for about 2 years now, and he comes by his tendancies honestly. Brady’s just like mom, attending photo shoots with buddy and photog Shaun Ring and even keeping up his own Facebook page. Brady was also named for the famed – Tom Brady. Since he was born on Superbowl Sunday, Meredith figured a football name was appropriate. Brady’s been living like a star ever since.

This Central Kentucky Real Estate star loves her clients, her community and her work – and she’s the perfect Realtor to help you find your dream home, not to mention introduce you to great new people, spin the hottest tunes, tell you about the yummiest new restaurant and share the secrets of Central Kentucky – she knows ‘em all! Call Meredith today to sell your home or find your new home!
