Ah, summer! The time of year when the days stretch longer and everything seems just a little brighter. The season of cold popsicles, fresh lemonade, and entire days spent by the pool. Summer holds so many memories for each of us and brings with it a desire to escape from the ordinary.
The quintessential summer vacation is a classic for a reason. (And if you’re still seeking that getaway, may we suggest the Cave Run Cabins at the Brownwood? Hello, lake weekend!) However, we understand that this year’s family vacation may be on hold for the moment. With social distancing guidelines still largely in effect, your travel plans might not be possible right now, and we sympathize with you.
We might be “safe at home”, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have lots of fun! Keep reading for our Top 10 Staycation Ideas. They’re all budget-friendly and sure to create wonderful memories to last a lifetime!

1. Movie Night
Pick up your favorite candy from the store and pop some popcorn. Choose your favorite film, or pick a few and make it a movie marathon! Settle into your living room couch or go the extra mile, and create a blow-up outdoor theater right in your backyard! All you need is a projector and this inflatable screen. (Or DIY a screen by hanging a white sheet against the side of your house!) Either way, cozy blankets and comfy loungewear are a must!

2. Spa Day
Take an entire day to focus on self-care. Do a hair or face mask and give yourself a mani-pedi. Light some candles and draw a relaxing bubble bath to feel extra luxurious.

There are plenty of free yoga classes on YouTube, ranging from beginner to advanced, but if yoga isn’t quite your speed, try a HIIT workout or bodyweight circuit to get those endorphins flowing!
